Our Facilities

Epworth United Methodist Camp is located along U.S. Route 45 at the north edge of Louisville, Illinois. The pleasant, tree-shaded grounds, covering fifteen acres, offers many opportunities for outdoor activities including basketball, softball, sand volleyball, and nature walks. The beautiful inspiration point features a fifteen-foot-tall lighted cross located on a hill overlooking the camp.

The comfortable, up-to-date dormitories can accommodate groups ranging in number from just a handful to over 200 persons. A three-bedroom, two-bath cottage with kitchenette and lounge is available, at no cost, to pastors who would like to have a day apart for study and meditation. In addition, there are six full hookups available for travel trailers or motor homes.

A spacious new dining and multi-purpose hall with complete kitchen facilities has recently been built. The camp buildings are all equipped with reliable heating and cooling systems for comfortable year-around use. Modern restrooms and shower rooms are conveniently located for the comfort of camp guests.

The 72-bed Retreat Center has just been renovated early in 2007 with fresh, cheerful paint and new carpeting throughout. Connected directly to the dining/multi-purpose hall, this building has a large, centrally-located meeting room making it ideal for weekend group retreats and gatherings of various sizes.

We are proud to announce that Epworth Camp has earned American Camp Association (ACA) accreditation. This is verification from the ACA that our camp complied with up to 300 industry-established health and safety criteria based on a recent inspection visit. ACA guidelines are widely recognized by courts of law and government regulators as the definitive standards for the camp industry.

In addition to use for the camps and activities sponsored by the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church, the Epworth Camp facilities are also available for use by other groups.
